Thanksgiving Inspiration

I'll be spending the day baking with my children and getting ready for Thanksgiving. My entire extended family is coming to my house so I want everything to taste amazing and look perfect (just a little personal stress!) I thought I would share with you a few inspirational Thanksgiving table photos I have been saving, to help you with your Thanksgiving tablescape.

Martha Stewart steals my heart above with a beautiful wheat sheath tied with a satin ribbon upon a linen tablecloth. I love the simplicity of this - I just wish I had a linen tablecloth and a wheat sheath - Definitely putting it on my list for next year!

I adore this next linen tablecloth with the inspirational script. I love the dried corn tied with ribbon and the bowls filled with nuts and candles. Simple and lovely from Country Living.

I can't recall where I located this photo, but I love the pheasant feathers and the setting in front of the fireplace. We have too many people coming but if you have just a small gathering, the spot couldn't be more cozy. Finally a great way to use your pumpkins left over from Halloween. I am going to get several bunches of fresh flowers at the market today and have my very talented sister (the organized one) arrange them inside my Halloween pumpkin.

After a very stressful Fall, I am counting my blessing and have much to be thankful for. I count you, my readers high on my list. Wishing you and your families a very joyous Thanksgiving.

Attitude of Gratitude

The best part of Thanksgiving is that it has traditionally been a non-commercial holiday.  Well, until stores decided to open this year but I digress.  Thanksgiving is a day when you don't have to do anything but spend time eating and watching the parade and football with those we care about.  It is always nice to take a moment though to think about all that you have to be thankful for this year.  I am always thankful for my fabulous friends and family and wonderful readers.  I've received so many wonderful emails lately and it is always nice to know that all the hard work that goes into the blog is appreciated by others.

The last chapter of the book Write It Down, Make It Happen is entitled Giving Thanks.  "When you remember to say thanks, when you live your life in a spirit of gratefulness, life will present you with even more things for which to be grateful."  Just a little something to think about on this day of Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving has generally become a holiday where people are allowed to gorge themselves on turkey and pumpkin pie while watching football games and parades. We often forget that it was originally created by the first settlers to celebrate the harvest and to give thanks in general for their new life in America. I have a lot to be thankful for this year and I'm always grateful for everything that blogging has brought to my life including great friends and wonderful experiences. I want to thank everyone who continues to read my blog everyday and for all your support and encouragement. I'm even a bit thankful for my detractors since they motivate me to work harder to accomplish more and prove them wrong. I hope you will all take a minute out of your Thanksgiving to think about what you are thankful this year too! Then you can unbutton your pants and go back for seconds! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful

I had planned to blog over the Thanksgiving holiday but then decided to take some much needed time off. But I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge how thankful I am for all the wonderful new people that I have met this year and for everyone who reads my blog and takes the time to leave comments. I really do appreciate your support and encouragement.

What are you thankful for this year?

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I am thankful that you continue to stop by everyday and read my blog and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday! I'm actually staying in the city this year and look forward to bringing you some fun holiday posts. But I think I will stay away from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and watch it on TV like everyone else! I have no desire to to get trampled by people trying to see the Snoopy balloon! Happy Thanksgiving!
